DSLS was formally launched in September 2020 following a merger of two predecessor primary and secondary phase associations, DAPH & DASH. We are an independent charity which represents and supports a network of school leaders from schools and academy trusts within Devon and beyond.

The DSLS mission is based upon the premise ‘For Schools ~ With Schools ~ By Schools’ and as an independent organisation, our motivating drivers are to:

•  Be the voice of and support for school leadership in the south-west.
• Become the conduit for developing leadership and driving school improvement.
• Proactively address the needs of leaders to ultimately benefit learners.
• Become a self-sustaining, not for profit organisation.

Working strategically alongside all other education and multi-agency stakeholders, DSLS plays a key role in developing policy and influencing decision making at both local and national levels.
