Marland School is a special school currently operating across three separate school sites in North Devon. We caters for students who have Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health (SEMH) related complex special educational needs.
The structure currently consists of:
· Marland Residential School (Peters Marland, Torrington): Years 4-11 (boys only).
· Marland Primary Day School (Central Bideford): Years 1-7 (*coeducational but currently boys only).
· Marland Secondary Day School (Roundswell, Barnstaple): Years 7-11 (*coed. but currently boys only).
Due to increasing demand for student places, a fourth coeducational day school (Secondary) will be opened in the summer of 2023 in East of the Water, Bideford.
All students have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) identifying SEMH as their primary need, the majority with associated resultant behavioural issues. Many students have additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, OCD, Tourette’s and Moderate or Specific Learning Difficulties / Delays, etc.).
